National Kinship Care Month

September is National Kinship Care Month, and across the country, communities are raising awareness about both the strengths and unique needs of kinship families.

Join the Celebration on Social Media

To help you take part in the celebration, our Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network created a digital media toolkit with customizable resources to support your outreach. Use it to amplify and celebrate the impact of kinship care and spark conversations in your community.

Celebrate Grandparents Day

#DoSomethingGrand and celebrate Grandparents Day this Sunday, September 7, and throughout the month of September! This year, we’re celebrating Stories From the Table. Inspired by the Emmy-nominated Netflix film NONNAS, our theme honors the food, family, and wisdom shared across generations. Whether you’re gathering around the table, swapping recipes, or simply sharing stories, it’s a chance to strengthen intergenerational connections in your family and community.

Learn more about this year’s theme and the #DoSomethingGrand activities you can do with your grandparents, grandfriends, grandchildren, or other loved ones of all ages. Celebrate on social media!

As part of the celebration, check out Grandparents Week (September 7 – 13, 2025), the largest virtual educational conference and celebration for grandparents of its kind, hosted by our partner at GrandparentsAcademy.com. Learn more and claim your ticket today!
