Heart of Ida’s intergenerational programming fosters meaningful connections between seniors and youth through various initiatives, including college intern placements and Teen Tech Days. College students from Gerontology, Social Work, and Sociology majors engage with seniors in the Stay Connected program, providing support and resources. During the summer, high school students from Long Beach Unified School District assist seniors with technology and participate in community service activities. This collaboration promotes mutual learning, combats social isolation, and enhances the well-being of both generations, creating a vibrant and supportive community.
