In a time when few people live by their extended families and loneliness abounds, Hope & A Future developed a Family of Friends model of care that facilitates intergenerational relationships. They observed that frail elders and children live more vibrantly when they are together. So, they developed a group home model that offers opportunities for caregivers to bring their children to work or live onsite. This offers financial and social benefits to young and old. Parents enjoy peace of mind, elders replace loneliness with engagement, purpose and belonging as they help and play with children. Young and old thrive together!
