Friend to Friend is a program of Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County that pairs younger volunteers with homebound, socially isolated clients to help combat loneliness. Volunteers, who are frequently younger than our clients, make weekly in-home visits, offering friendship, companionship, and meaningful conversation. For many clients, these visits are their only source of social connection beyond meal delivery. By fostering relationships across generations, Friend to Friend supports emotional well-being, reduces isolation, and helps older adults feel valued and connected in their community.
