For nearly 20 years, older adult volunteer tutors have joyfully shared their skills and experience to work with disadvantaged 1st-3rd grade elementary school students in one on one twice weekly tutoring sessions which measurably improve reading skills in students who struggle to read fluently and have tested below grade level. ECBA serves 400 students annually from 16 schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.
