DWCC’s intergenerational programming brings together older adults in the Senior Activities for Independent Living (SAIL) Program with community student volunteers and underserved youth in the After School Achievement and Summer Recreation Programs. Through shared meals, crafts, games, service projects, and storytelling, participants build meaningful connections that reduce senior isolation and strengthen youth empathy, social skills, and academic motivation. Rooted in DWCC’s mission, these activities celebrate the wisdom of older adults and the energy of youth, fostering dignity, connection, and community across generations.
