The Cabinet for Older New Yorkers (Cabinet) was launched by the Mayor of New York City in 2022. It is an interagency collaborative established to realize and institutionalize an age-inclusive New York City through structural, legislative and systemic solutions. Chaired by the NYC Department for the Aging (NYC Aging), the Cabinet is comprised of 29 New York City government agencies, covering areas including health, housing, public safety, transportation, and intergenerational programming. The NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is a Cabinet member and a key partner with NYC Aging to lead an intergenerational storytelling initiative in high-need communities.
