Generations United Launches Intergenerational Leadership Accelerator Program, Welcomes Inaugural Class of Emerging Leaders

Generations United proudly announces the launch of the Intergenerational Leadership Accelerator Program, a new fellowship designed to support and elevate emerging leaders ages 18–30 who are driving, leading, or championing intergenerational initiatives across the United States. This initiative is made possible with support from The Eisner Foundation, whose commitment to fostering intergenerational connections and strengthening programs for all generations.

“Intergenerational work is built on decades of leadership and practice that have demonstrated the power of connecting generations,” said Kristen Kiefer, executive director of Generations United. “This inaugural cohort builds on that foundation by investing in emerging leaders who are advancing new models – strengthening connection as a long-term strategy and preparing the field to grow, adapt, and scale for the future.”

Program Goals

The Intergenerational Leadership Accelerator Program is designed to:

  • Empower young leaders to innovate, sustain, and scale intergenerational programs
  • Strengthen the field by building a national network of emerging intergenerational leaders
  • Support knowledge exchange between youth leaders and professionals across generations
  • Amplify program impact through coaching, funding support, and increased visibility
  • Champion equity by uplifting diverse voices and inclusive intergenerational practices
  • Advance advocacy by equipping fellows to engage with local policies and decision-makers
