Sofia Henriquez is the Program Manager for the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) at Pepperdine University. In this role, Sofia works alongside the administrative and compliance support team to enhance departmental operations, bringing a rigorous focus to program efficiency and community impact.
Sofia offers a robust background in data management, evaluation, and communication strategy. She previously served for several years as the Alumni Relations Analyst for the Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) at Pepperdine University, where she honed her skills in networking, relationship building, and resource development. As an active member of GSEP’s Diversity Council, she is deeply committed to celebrating inclusivity and highlighting the transformative power of education.
A first-generation college graduate, Sofia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her passion for intergenerational connection is personal; growing up, she learned the value of community from her abuelita, Teresa de Jesus, whose guidance inspired Sofia’s dedication to the FGP mission.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Sofia is known for her collaborative spirit and resilience. Outside of her professional work, she volunteers with organizations dedicated to human rights and immigrant empowerment.
