Margaret Langan is a longtime kinship caregiver from rural New York who has been raising her grandson for many years. Her caregiving experience has taught her about perseverance, forgiveness, strength, and the importance of continuing to show up for family, even when the path is difficult.
Margaret brings a lifetime of varied professional and personal experiences to GKU. Much of her career was spent in the culinary arts, including serving as an executive chef, and she now works in direct care. She is also proud of returning to college around age 40 and graduating summa cum laude while balancing work, family responsibilities, and running a small bakery.
Through GKU, Margaret hopes to strengthen her communication and listening skills and become an even stronger resource for kinship families navigating complex systems and services, particularly families whose children have diverse support needs.
