Kyle Rakow serves as the Senior Vice President of Programs at AARP, overseeing the organization’s expansive portfolio of educational initiatives and community programs aimed at enhancing the lives of individuals aged 50 and older. He has held this role since December 2021. Prior to this role, he was the Vice President and National Director of AARP Driver Safety. As Vice President and National Director of AARP Driver Safety, Rakow oversaw the nation’s first and largest driver improvement course, the AARP Smart Driver program. Since its inception in 1979, this program has educated over 16 million drivers aged 50 and older, helping them stay safe, confident, and independent on the road. Rakow is also a recognized voice in public discussions on transportation safety, having moderated panels at events like the AARP Livable Communities Transportation Workshop. These workshops focus on creating environments that are walkable, rollable, bikeable, and drivable, emphasizing the importance of safe streets for all ages. In total, he has committed over sixteen years to AARP.  Prior to his current work, Kyle Rakow spent time in the banking industry as an Affinity Relationship Manager for Bank of America.
