Danny Melgoza serves as NACo‘s chief strategy officer, assisting the CEO/executive director with executive leadership and management, including oversight of the association’s strategic objectives and key results. In his capacity, he also serves as NACo chief of staff, fostering a team-oriented, inclusive and performance-based environment. He acts as a lead communicator and liaison internally and externally, including with members, teammates, partners and stakeholders.
Prior to joining NACo, Danny served 14 years in public policy and management positions at San Diego County, Calif., including most recently as chief of staff to Supervisor Greg Cox. Previously, he worked at Seattle City Light, IBM, Xerox Corporation and ALDI Foods. He hails from Kansas City, Mo. He and his wife Monica recently welcomed their first-born child.
