Alexis Contreras

Alexis Contreras is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. She has been a part of the NICWA team since 2011. Alexis serves NICWA as the research assistant where she develops strong, trusting relationships with diverse tribal partners and works on a variety of topics from strengthening child welfare systems to engaging Grandfamilies. Alexis embodies the organization’s philosophy that NICWA’s role is to facilitate community processes and activities that allow communities to draw on the wisdom and assets they have to improve the lives and circumstances of Native children and families.
