  1. Foster Grandparents – Corporation for National & Community Service
    Foster Grandparents are role models, mentors, and friends to children with exceptional needs. The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities. Foster Grandparents serve from 15 to 40 hours per week in locations including schools, hospitals, juvenile correctional institutions, daycare facilities or Head Start centers.

  2. Art Cart – Research Center for Arts and Culture

  3. Campus Kitchen Project
    Here at The Campus Kitchens Project, we’ve figured out how to create a student-run kitchen that will keep food from going to waste, and turn it into nutritious meals for those who are struggling with food insecurity. It’s student-powered hunger relief.

  4. AARP TEK
    At AARP Expos and events TEK Pavilions offer free, hands-on training for all sorts of devices and gadgets. "TEK" stands for Technology, Education and Knowledge. In addition to AARP TEK Advisors, local high school and college students will be on hand to answer questions. Dubbed "Tech Wizards," the young adults are participating thanks to a partnership between the 4-H Clubs of America and the AARP Foundation's Mentor Up program.

  6. Seabury Resources for Aging
    Age-In-Place (AIP) provides yard work and house cleaning - free to those over the age of 60 - in wards 4, 5, and 6 of Washington, DC. By providing yard work and house cleaning to low and moderate income older adults through our dedicated volunteers, AIP can make the difference in whether seniors stay in their homes or must find alternative living arrangements. On top of providing the much needed physical work, volunteers spend time in conversation with each client and provide social support. Many volunteers find that talking and sharing with the person they serve is one of the most fulfilling aspects of volunteering!

  7. AARP Foundation Experience Corps
    AARP Foundation Experience Corps is a community-based volunteer program that empowers people over 50 to serve as tutors to help students become better readers by the end of third grade. It is a proven “triple win,” helping students succeed, older adults thrive, and communities grow stronger. The program ensures volunteer success through extensive training, peer networks, and ongoing evaluation. Experience Corps employs a structured, evidence-based model that improves the overall reading ability of students by building their fluency, accuracy, and comprehension skills. We focus on outcomes, inspiring volunteers to disrupt the cycle of poverty by making a lasting difference in the lives of America’s most vulnerable children.

  8. Connecting Generations
    It is Delaware’s resource for mentoring and other intergenerational programs. Its mission is to connect generations in ways that help Delaware’s children and adults lead purposeful, fulfilling, and self-directed lives. Creative Mentoring provides support to site-based mentoring programs throughout Delaware with standardized mentoring program materials, recruitment support, mentor application processing and screening, and mentor training.

    Joining Generations is a statewide intergenerational program operated by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities. The goal of the program is to bring elderly and the youth together in planned activities which benefit both generations. Joining Generations administers the Family Circles program. Family Circles is a support/education group program for grandparents and relatives raising others' children. In addition, Joining Generations provides support and technical assistance to other organizations in Delaware which are interested in developing intergenerational services. The Kent County location is at the Modern Maturity Center
