The Academy is a life long learning organization for adults on the Eckerd College campus. There are many opportunities for participants to work with the students. Programs include mentoring, tutoring, participating in service learning projects and advising student clubs.

A project started by twin brothres, Gabriel and Daniel Vasquez. They play their instruments at different adult day cares, assisted living facilities, and rehab centers in Miami-Dade County. Shows include different hipanic and American songs from the Golden Age for the senior citizens. The seniors sing, dance and express their love for music, remembering their youth.

GrandMentor connects American seniors and elementary school children in a mutually beneficial relationship to promote successful aging and education. Our venture pairs disadvantaged children who have Internet access at school and/or home with at-home or at-day center volunteer senior citizens by using free videoconferencing (i.e. Skype) tools and proprietary teaching guides specific to high quality children’s literature. The social impact is two-fold: (1) Children improve academic achievement with free personalized literacy tutoring. (2) Senior volunteers prevent cognitive decline/isolation by giving back.

The Students Taking Active Roles, or STAR Leadership Training provides high school students with the opportunity to contribute to their community as decision makers. STAR is a 75 hour leadership training that focuses on teambuilding, communication, civic engagement and leadership skills that will empower youth to use their voice as they serve their community. Through the use of youth-adult partnerships, young people are supported in learning skills and taking action to improve the community for themselves and their peers.

The mission of GRG of Brevard is to provide advocacy, support, and referral to relative care families throughout Brevard County. Our vision is that one day all children will live in a safe loving home with relatives that will help them to develop into their full potential.

Our mission is to bring generations together with music and musical performances. Our unique orchestra environment encourages, nurtures and promotes closer relationships between the generations. We have formed to target musicians of all ages and all levels residing and visiting South Florida.

The Kinship Care Resource Center is a place where grandparents raising grandchildren in parent absent homes can come for help navigating through "the System'; where people care about them, see them for who they are, respect them for what they are doing, and help the through the maze. The center hosts intergenerational programs daily and is housed inside the Shelnutt intergenerational Center.

The Bridge program assigns groups of teens and adult volunteers to serve seniors. These groups of volunteers interact, visit and get to know our seniors and engage in the various activities.  Keyword: Shared Site

Senior Angels is SCI’s flexible volunteer program, providing a variety of ways to make a difference in an older adult’s life. Each month, Senior Angels receive a monthly calendar that lists projects and opportunities to volunteer. Angels sign up for what interests them and meets their schedule. For school-aged children, Senior Angels can be a great way to fulfill community service requirements. Projects can be a fantastic corporate team building experience as well.

The Learning Center, located at Cypress Palms, is an experiential preschool that offers an engaging and interactive learning environment. Children from eight weeks through five years of age receive quality child care services from a team that is committed to nurture each child in their care. Our intergenerational activities bring mixed age groups together to share experiences, knowledge, and skills that are mutually beneficial and promote positive relationships. This one-of-a-kind learning environment features dedicated teachers, state-of-the-art equipment, a two-story tree house, a tugboat computer lab, and intergenerational experiences. Keyword: Shared Site
