Linking Intergenerational Neighbors Who Care (LINC) engages youth of the Chadsey/Condon neighborhood to “link” elders in their neighborhood to services and resources that meet the elders‘ needs. The mission of the LINC Project is to provide a safe environment where people can age in dignity, while local young people are exposed to possible job fields, career opportunities, and the transferable skills needed to build a positive future for themselves and their communities.  Most importantly, LINC creates a sustainable community that thrives off of the energy and wisdom of all its members. 

Emerson School is proud to present InterGen Tech: a Pilot class where 5th-8th graders share technology skills with local elders in a collaborative environment. In this new innovative class, students will partner with local elders to help teach and practice digital skills in Emerson’s computer lab, while elders will share their experiences and wisdom with today’s youth. For students, it's a service-learning class for responsible, caring, and dedicated students who have an interest in sharing digital skills with local senior citizens.

MSU Grandparents University is an opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren (ages 8-12) to come together for a three-day educational experience while spending time together on the MSU campus.

GrandparentsU is a summer camp that brings grandparents and their grandkids together for three days of fun on the campus of CMU. This experience includes hands-on educational sessions conducted by faculty members along with other fun activities for grandparents and children ages 8 to 12.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) program provides grandparents, and other relatives caring for children, with information about self-care, children’s needs, and the assurance that families with generational gaps are not alone. Services include: Support groups that provide a sense of community for caregivers and the children in their care Newsletter with valuable updates on free and low-cost events and info around Washtenaw County Educational workshops and presentations to equip grandparents to better care for themselves and their grandchildren Resources, including financial assistance, clothing, food, etc.
