TogetherForSDGs

The TogetherForSDGs Intergenerational Impact Hub is an initiative designed to foster intergenerational collaboration between youth leaders, civil society organizations, and policy bodies to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative bridges youth, older adults, local civil society, and intergovernmental actors to create scalable, sustainable, and impactful partnerships that drive meaningful change.

The Intergenerational Impact Hub

🌍 TogetherForSDGs

TogetherForSDGs is a global initiative bringing younger and older leaders together to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through the Intergenerational Impact Hub, people of all ages—youth advocates, older changemakers, civil society organizers, and policy actors—are co-creating bold, community-rooted solutions. By building partnerships across generations and sectors, we’re turning shared purpose into meaningful action.

🤝🏾 Why Intergenerational Collaboration?

With less than five years to 2030, only 17% of the SDGs are on track (UN SDG Report 2024). Now more than ever, we need all generations working together.

SDG 17 emphasizes partnerships for sustainable development. By bringing together the strengths of different generations, we create powerful, scalable, and impactful solutions.

“We need people of all ages, young and old alike, to join forces to build a better world for all.”
António Guterres, UN Secretary-General

The Intergenerational Impact Hub provides a space to co-create solutions for inclusion and collaboration toward #OurCommonFuture.

🔎 From Global Commitments to Local Action

At the 2024 UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi, youth and civil society leaders affirmed the importance of intergenerational partnerships through the PACT for the Future:

  • Action 35: Promote intergenerational solidarity to foster inclusion across families, workplaces, and society.
  • Action 36: Ensure meaningful youth participation in shaping policies and decision-making at all levels, including fostering intergenerational dialogues between youth, older generations, and governments.
  • Action 37: Strengthen meaningful youth participation at the international level.

TogetherForSDGs builds on this momentum through youth-led design research, capacity building, and advocacy for intergenerational action leading up to International Youth Day 2025—and beyond.

🚀 Our Approach: A 3-Phase Impact Model

We are using the Building Communities in Action Framework, a relational approach grounded in co-creation, shared leadership, and community wisdom.

Phase 1: Framing & Listening (May – June 2025)
We’ve launched with an inspiring global Design Team of younger and older leaders. Through community-based research, they are surfacing shared values, stories, and insights to guide what comes next.

Phase 2: Designing Intergenerational Strategies (July – August 2025)
We’ll co-create SDG-aligned strategies rooted in community insights. This includes a hybrid global workshop on International Youth Day (August 12, 2025) in Nairobi.

Phase 3: Enacting & Scaling Impact (October 2025 and beyond)
We’ll implement intergenerational strategies, amplify community voices through global advocacy, and develop tools for others to adapt and use.

🌟 Be Part of International Youth Day 2025!

We’re inviting people of all generations to come together on August 12, 2025 to celebrate International Youth Day and co-create intergenerational strategies to accelerate the SDGs.
