Richelle Matarazzo is the Grandfamilies Center Assistant at Generations United where she supports the engagement of the national GRAND Voices caregiver network and other programs of Generations United’s National Center on Grandfamilies. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a certificate in interdisciplinary writing. She will be getting her Masters of Social Work from Columbia in 2022. Her passion for supporting grandfamilies started during her social work field placement in college where she worked at the Athens Community Council on Aging in their Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program. She went on to intern with Generations United as their Grandfamilies intern through the Somer’s Research Internship on Long-Term Care and Aging with the National Academy of Social Insurance, and is very excited to continue her work in this role.
