The Girard Multi-Generational Center promotes interaction between generations through education, health, fitness, and socialization for the purpose of preserving and enhancing our community. the Multi-Generational Center has become an accessible, safe, friendly place where people of all ages come to receive a wide variety of services. Our goal is to keep people active, engaged, and developing paths for lifelong learning, health and fitness. Friends Preschool Program, run by Greene County Educational Service Center is on the site of Friends Care Community independent/assisted living center

The "Mount Kisco Child Day Care Center" and "My Second Home," a senior daycare center bring together the generations for planting and maintaining a fresh vegetable garden on site which promotes proper elderly and childhood nutrition

Community Center is open to all ages and offers various activities.

At Marilyn’s Lifelong Educational Center (MLLEC) children learn through hands on explorations, daily interactions and guidance within a natural family-like environment. Planned hands on explorations are implemented by our teachers and designed to help children learn life skills and gain an academic advantage. Interactions are either planned or qualify as friendly visits with our elder friends throughout Birchaven Retirement Village.

The Learning Circle at Jennings Center for Older Adults is an enriching infant and child care program. The most unique aspect of The Learning Circle is our intergenerational program. We encourage the learning opportunities between seniors and younger generations from preschoolers to teens, which foster learning and mentoring relationships that greatly impact the lives of both generations. Daily programs offer activities and tools to foster this important positive interaction and provide life-enriching experiences

The senior center run through Heritage Day is in the same site as a childcare center run through the YMCA. The children and older adults interact on a daily basis.

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an intergenerational art program for people with dementia. It is grounded in person-centered ethics and founded on the fact that people with dementia are capable of expressing themselves creatively. There is a growing body of empirical evidence that creative expression improves their physical and psychological well-being. The mission of OMA is to build bridges across age and cognitive barriers through art. The program is implemented in group sessions: Up to 12 people with dementia with the assistance of 12 trained volunteers working on a one-to-one basis. The art-making sessions culminate in a gallery exhibition celebrating the artists’ accomplishments while educating the public about the creative capacities of people with dementia.

Partnered with Tompkins County Office for the Aging, Ithaca College and Cornell University Project Generations students visit with an older adult in the Ithaca, NY area for about an hour each week. Volunteers help to fulfill seniors’ needs through providing companionship, mental stimulation, and social support. Project Generations aims to reduce the social stigma and recognize older adults’ value as community members with rich life experiences to share. The mission of the organization is to enrich older adults’ and volunteers’ lives by bridging the gap between the generations.

Residents from the Ivy Lodge Assisted Living (formerly The Family Lodge) join the teacher and families each week for class, making our essential class even more of a community experience. The residents love being with the families and observing the children and the families offer their children a true musical exchange between people of all ages.
