  2. Kendal at Oberlin
    Kendal Early Learning Center (KELC) is a leader in person-centered intergenerational programming in Ohio for the children of Kendal at Oberlin staff members and families from the surrounding community. KELC will unite generations with relationships that have lasting positive effects on the lives of their children and residents. This will be accomplished using an educational curriculum focusing on the needs and interests of each child and on the interests and talents of each resident according to Kendal’s person-centered philosophy. KELC will maintain an environment that is aligned to NAEYC’s quality benchmarks and adheres to our mission to develop fiscal viability through community and philanthropic resources.

    A Intergenerational alignment approach for economic and intellectual development to decrease the population of people living below the poverty level, and pool the assets of our youth and longevous adults. There is a hole in our society called “Human Science .” We advocate clear purposes and directives in life will help alleviate and enhance these challenges by learning new strategies. In addition, the team advances the views on social, cultural, economic, and political development: Intergenerationalism*.Multiculturalism,and Social Justice. The main objective for our participants is to become more well rounded, effective, and productive human beings; who recognize that there are tools, skills and resources necessary for contributions to the community for safe, healthy, and economic growth. We will help to reduce the poverty level and Make Philadelphia Smarter. And not be a mirror of society,however, a ‘Maker’ of society. How! Turn the challenge into an opportunity.*coined word

    The Legacy Project (TLP) is a newly established nonprofit dedicated to connecting college students with elders in their local communities to build a nationwide network of intergenerational friendships. The objective of TLP is multifold: -Build long-lasting intergenerational relationships as a means to combat social isolation and loneliness faced by seniors and young adults alike -Preserve the life histories of older adults through informal interview processes with the collected information used to craft a published book to share with the senior, their families, and the broader community -Engage young individuals into revolutionizing the societal perspective on aging -Encourage young individuals to actively listen to the stories of the older adults in their lives
