Generations United Best Practice Designation This initiative is made possible through the generous support of the New York Life Foundation. Thank you for your interest in the Generations United Best Practice Designation. Generations United (GU) recently launched a new designation or “seal of approval” for intergenerational programs. The GU Best Practice Designation serves as the U.S. benchmark for intergenerational programs and is based on the criteria that underpin the effectiveness of any intergenerational program. The intention of the designation is to recognize the rich diversity among intergenerational programs. The accompanying application allows agencies and programs of any size to assess the quality of their intergenerational initiatives and seek national recognition for outstanding work. The application is not only for organizations seeking the designation, but also can be used as a self-assessment tool to help program planners to develop new initiatives or identify areas that can be strengthened within their programs for better outcomes. How to Apply: Click here to download the application in Word format. Deadlines for applications are: October 1 and April 1, but you are welcome to submit them throughout the year. The cost of processing the application is $25.00. Please be sure that your organization's name is clearly marked on your supporting documents.
