Generations United's Seniors4Kids* is a campaign that bridges generations by raising the visibility of older adults in support of voluntary, universal, high quality pre-kindergarten for all 3 and 4 year olds.  We facilitate the involvement of adults age 50+ in creating statewide networks of community leaders and grassroots volunteers with the common goal of promoting quality care and education.

Seniors4Kids has recently expanded into New York. This page is currently under construction.

Each year, Pre-K Now produces a conference for pre-kindergarten advocates and supporters across the nation. The conference program is broadcast using satellite television and local communities set up their own viewing sites, complete with pre- and post-broadcast activities.

We hope you can join Pre-K advocates in your state and other Seniors4Kids ELDER Captains and Captains for Kids across the country for this important satellite conference.

Highlights from this year's national broadcast include:

  • Emmy award-winning journalist Leon Harris will host this year's conference broadcast. News anchor for ABC7/WJLA-TV and co-host of Capital Sunday, he came to Washington after 20 years at CNN's Atlanta Headquarters, where he co-anchored CNN Live Today and Prime News, and hosted CNN Presents and American Stories.
  • Among those joining us for in-studio panel discussions will be:
      • Nancy Kolben, Executive Director of Child Care Inc., New York
      • Robert Sexton, Ph.D., Executive Director, The Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, Kentucky
      • Bill Bentley, President & CEO of VOICES for America's Children

      • Representative Mazie K. Hirono (Hawaii, 2nd District)
      • Speaker Christine C. Quinn of the New York City Council
  • And, we'll examine strategies to raise the profile of pre-k in local communities, statewide, and at the federal level, including:
      • How to engage city officials and build city-wide policies that work for pre-k providers in a variety of settings
      • How to collaborate with business leaders to educate candidates, host a candidate forum on education, and get candidates on the record for pre-k
      • How to make pre-k a priority on the federal agenda and influence federal lawmakers to invest in pre-k
