FOR GRANDPARENTS AND OTHER RELATIVES RAISING CHILDREN

In the interim, urge your Senators and Representative to co-sponsor the bipartisan Kinship Caregiver Support Act (S.661, HR2188).  The Act establishes a Kinship Navigator Program to help link relative caregivers to the services for which the children are eligible, Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program to support relative caregivers who are legal guardians for children leaving foster care, requires notice to relatives when parents lose custody of their children, and allows states to set up separate licensing standards for relative and non-relative foster parents.
