Jack Ossofsky Award for Lifetime Acheivement in Support of Children, Youth, and the Elderly
Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI)

Presented at the Generations United Awards dinner on September 15th, 2005, the Ossofsky award celebrates the lifetime achievements of an individual whose efforts benefit both the young and the old.  Introduced by GU in 1993, the award is a lasting tribute to Jack Ossofsky, who was Executive Director of the National Council on the Aging, and one of the co-founders and early leaders of Generations United.

Among her many achievements, Senator Stabenow (D-MI) was one of the original sponsors and a continual advocate for the American Dream Downpayment bill, which includes provisions for LEGACY housing for grandparents raising children.
